Pool you money for Solar Power.

This is a great idea. Solar power is the poster child of the green era. But buying enough solar panels to make a difference in your electricity bills will cost you dearly… unless you buy in bulk. Some neighborhoods in the country are pooling their money to make huge orders of solar panels. I’m not talking four or five, or even ten or twenty. I’m talking about hundreds of houses. How many neighborhood councils are there? Six?  There are about 25K houses in Great Falls. So let’s see… carry the two, square root…zzz...zzz…zzz…zzz… Oh yeah! That means we could have six orders of solar panels for about 8K each. I’m no economist, but just one order that large would surely drop the price a cent or two. We’d be stickin’ it to the man. Maybe someone on one of the neighborhood councils could mention the idea. You never know what comments it might get. If the city goes through with the Highwood Generating Station, and the citizens of Great Falls began ordering mass amounts of solar panels to power their homes, we’d really be sending a message. There are definitely some details I left out to keep this post short. One I will mention is that Great Falls doesn’t exactly get the most sun in the world. Do you know which country has the world’s most robust solar power program? If you know, post it. If no one knows, I’ll post it on my next blog. I think you will be surprised.
