Canadian Money

The decreased value of the American Dollar has more meaning than the media would have you believe. It also means the Canadian Dollar (Loonies, for short) has more value here in the U.S. It's a very good reason for Canadians to come here and spend their money. The same phenomenon has been happening for years the other way. We'd go to Canada to buy stuff because our money was worth so much up there. Do this: go grab a relatively new book you've purchased, look at the price on the back. It'll say a U.S. price and a Canada price. The latter is always a lot more. So the 'Nucks' come here and buy their stuff at our price. It's hard to tell, at least for me, if they've been spending their Loonies on American real estate, but the same rule applies, they can buy houses here for cheaper than in Canadia... yes I said Canadia. So a lot of us REALTORS might be well served by promoting houses to buyers across the border. It's just a thought.
