And One More Thing

I'm a pretty staunch republican, but I'm kinda ashamed of my party after the convention. I mean, making fun of Obama for being a community organizer? That's not only childish, but an insult to the rest of the community organizers across the entire planet. C'mon guys, and gals. What has happened to my party? We used to stand for prosperity and peace through strength. Abortion, guns, gays, WHO  CARES?!?!?! The list of more important shit is long. What does it matter who was aborted, who had gun rights, and who got married when we're a third world country? What is wrong with my Republican party? I can't in good consience vote for McCain when he associates himself with people who insult his opponent for being a community organizer. And what makes it worse, is people locally who support him. An aquaintance of mine asked me who I was voting for, and when I said I wasn't impressed with McCain, they said, "A vote for anyone else is a vote for Obama, and hes a f*cking Muslim!" To which I replied, "Wow! I didn't know you were such a bigot. Last I heard, being Christian wasn't a requirement to be president. And maybe, a Muslim president would have a better understanding of Middle-Eastern affairs. Maybe we wouldn't be such a target of the Muslim world if we had a Muslim president. And where are you getting your information anyway?" You know where? Can you IMAGINE WHERE? HE GOT HIS INFO FROM A CHAIN EMAIL!! A member of my republican party getting his discussion "facts" from an email? I went to the source. I went to each candidates' website, and read their bios, their policies, their records, their experience... not an email.  When Bush ran against Kerry, I supported Bush vehemently. And it seemed everywhere I went, I had some filthy liberal telling me how stupid I was. Now I hear it from my own party. Maybe I'll do this: anytime someone asks me who I'm voting for, I'll tell them, "Not who you're voting for." Then, I'll count how many times I get called stupid. Whichever side calls me stupid the least wins.
